‘Never Let Me Go’ up for Christian music award following public vote
Rob Westall’s new single ‘Never let me go’ featuring Bean Baker is in the running for a prestigious Christian music award.
The guitar-driven anthem, co-written with Rob’s guitarist and friend Steve Quantick, has made the final-five shortlist for the UK Christian Chart by AStepFwd’s rock song of the year.
Other nominees include White Stone Receivers, New Wine Worship, Homegrown Worship and Amongst Wolves.
The winner will be announced at the glitzy black-tie awards ceremony at St Paul’s Church in Hammersmith London on November 27th.
Founded in 2014, AStepFWD is a multi-generational multi-media organisation that powers the monthly, independently run, national UK Christian Chart and is dedicated to exposing, promoting, and celebrating the Gospel through music of all styles.
The inaugural awards seeks to honour all the influencers and pioneers of the UK Christian music scene over the past 40 years.
“It was great to get nominated for the award initially,” said Rob Westall, “but it means even more that the public have voted the song onto the final five shortlist.
“Thanks to everyone who voted. Whatever happens it will be a wonderful evening.
"“My wife Anna had already picked out a dress for the ceremony and I just hope I can fit into my tuxedo, as the last time I wore it was at my graduation ball!”
Never Let Me Go, was the first single to be released from Rob Westall’s new album, 1,000 Voices, due out early next year, and reached number one in the UK Christian Chart in March.
